Crime Stoppers Greater Atlanta is a community based, non-profit program, managed by a civilian volunteer advisory board. It is a crime information collection operation, which enables anyone with information about a crime, and who wishes to remain anonymous, to pass that information on to law enforcement through a neutral organization. The program works because of its unique partnership between the public, the media and law enforcement, working together to resolve community problems through the apprehension of criminals and prevention of crime.

When an individual has information about the Crime of the Week, any other unsolved crimes, or information about a wanted fugitive, he or she is encouraged to call 404-577-TIPS (8477), text CSA and information to CRIMES, or e-mail the anonymous information using the online form at www.crimestoppersatlanta.org. The tip can result in a reward up to $2,000 to the individual who supplied the information needed to solve the case.

The Atlanta Police Foundation (APF) was established in 2003 to provide vital support to the Mayor, the Chief of Police and the Atlanta Police Department. The organization is based on a public-private partnership model that has proven to be highly effective in the prevention and reduction of crime in other major cities. Since its inception, the APF has worked to secure and leverage private resources to fund high priority projects designed to enhance the City of Atlanta’s ability to fight and prevent crime.
Technology is changing the way the APD operates. Today the Department is smarter, faster and more efficient thanks to innovations identified, tested or developed by the Atlanta Police Foundation.

Support from the business and philanthropic community, have extended APD’s tech capabilities, through the expansion of Operation Shield, a network of advanced technologies that create more efficient policing including the citywide network of surveillance cameras and license plate readers, predictive policing platform and criminal analytics software.
The Loudermilk Video Integration Center (VIC) is a cutting-edge facility that serves as the hub for Operation Shield. The VIC houses a team of analysts who manage the City’s more than 7,800 surveillance camera network.
